Title: The House on Poultney Road: based on a true ghost story [Kindle Edition]

Author: Stephanie Boddy
Publisher: Scamps Publishing (January 8th, 2014)
ASIN: B00HMDU8PA
Genre Fiction: - Supernatural

An Adventure into the Unknown

Author, Stephanie Boddy, takes the reader on a paranormal journey into the unknown. Based on actual events makes this read not only entertaining but also terrifying. The author introduces to the reader several family members – describes in great detail their horrifying personal accounts, but make no mistake – ‘The House on Poultney Road’ is the main character in this haunting true tale of supernatural occurrences.

I personally finished this riveting book within just a few hours. I found the dialogue to flow with ease – believable, not forced. A reader wants a page-turner, characters that they can relate to, a story that is thought provoking – Stephanie Boddy gives the reader all these things and more in this spine tingling tale of ghostly suspense.

I give ‘The House on Poultney Road’ four stars, and I do believe this new author is well on her way to making a huge splash in the vast ocean of literary works.

Cover Reveal: Gypsy of Spirits by Bestselling Author Katie Jennings

International Bestselling Author Katie Jennings has been hard at work on a hauntingly romantic novel entitled So Fell the Sparrow, due out November 21st of this year! However, before the main novel releases, she will debut a prequel short story called Gypsy of Spirits, which poetically highlights one of the main characters and offers an exclusive sneak peek of So Fell the Sparrow.

This is the stunning cover for Gypsy of Spirits, available in eBook on September 21st!

Here is a taste of what to expect from Gypsy of Spirits…

Jackie drove through the dark of night, her headlights barely cutting through the heavy fog. The air swirled in all around her, the open top and sides of the jeep exposing her to the elements. She could have put the cover on and protected herself, but she didn’t mind the feel of the misty fog along her skin. It was part of what she enjoyed about seaboard towns like Mad Rock Harbor.
The town was a far cry from the temperamental Midwestern storms she’d long ago forsaken, her perpetually itchy feet carrying her elsewhere. Anywhere but there. She was a woman who called no particular place home. Instead, she brought her sense of home with her everywhere she went.
She had seen the sun set on the bluffs of the California desert, walked the well-traveled city streets of New York, and dipped her toes in the warm waters of Florida. She’d taken a lover in the heady splendor of Barcelona, kissed the blarney stone in Dublin, and sipped tequila in the tropical heat of Mexico.
She lived her life by the mantra that not all who wander are lost. She had never once felt lost, not in all her travels. Instead, she considered every step she took to be one more rung on destiny’s ladder. She trusted her every whim, her every desire, to fate. For fate had never once let her down.

International bestselling Author Katie Jennings is the author of six full length novels, including the popular fantasy series The Dryad Quartet as well as the bestselling family drama series The Vasser Legacy.

She lives in sunny Southern California with her husband and cat, who both think she’s the biggest nerd ever. She’s a firm believer in happy endings and loves nothing more than a great romance novel.

My Review of 'The Pink Canary' by Yvonne Mason

Title: The Pink Canary
Author: Yvonne Mason
Genre: Thriller/Comedy
Publisher: Lulu

ASIN# B008VEL1SC

“Hell Hath No Fury Like A Drag Queen Scorned!”

No, ‘The Pink Canary’ is not an English play – although if the great playwright, William Congreve, could be here today, and was given a chance to read ‘The Pink Canary’ by Yvonne Mason, ‘Hell Hath No Fury Like A Drag Queen Scorned’ just might be the title of his next winning play – based on Yvonne Mason’s new book of course, ‘The Pink Canary’.

I have read several of, Yvonne Mason’s literary works but I must say this piece is unique – exceptional in the fact that she waved her magic pencil like a wand – created a fresh storyline that includes some of her most outstanding characters to date.

As the story begins, it takes you on a roller coaster ride from New York to Miami. Imagine for a moment that a serial killer is loose in Miami, and he or she, is targeting Drag queens – accumulating body parts as trophies. An ex-private detective, now headliner and owner of the hottest drag queen establishment in Miami, teams up with a homophobic detective to try to solve the case. Add in ‘one’ badass drag queen toting a can of aqua net hairspray in one hand and a pair of Chinese hooker heals in the other – well, things are going to get ugly very quick!

I gave ‘The Pink Canary’ five stars for originality, delightful humor, and crime fighting suspense!

To Kill the Duke by Sam Moffie

Genre: Fiction:
Title: To Kill The Duke:
Author: Sam Moffie:
Publisher: CreateSpace
ISBN# 9781461147060
Pages: 362

Take a journey back into the 1950s, alongside a cast of familiar characters, and re-visit the ‘Cold War’ in a different light…! Author, Sam Moffie, creates a tidal wave of excellence pouring out and onto each page of his latest literary work, ‘To Kill The Duke.’

Moffie constructs a work of art in this piece of – historical facts meets fiction. As a history buff, I have always been interested in learning more about the ‘Cold War’ and the major consequence it had on our history as a whole. What if I was to tell you a soviet plot was constructed by Stalin, to find and assassinate the one and only – American film icon, John Wayne, aka ‘The Duke!’ Sound crazy? Historical documents prove just that! Sam Moffie combines historical facts of the cold war with colorful fictitious characters and humorous situations – all which play a riveting role in this masterpiece. True to fashion, Moffie’s dialogue glitters among this star-studded cast of characters.

What do ‘Susan Hayward,’ John Wayne,’ and Howard Hughes’ have in common – besides all being iconic film legends? They are all immortalized in Moffie’s tale of suspense, espionage, and humor. I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of time and research Moffie put into creating ‘To Kill The Duke.’ Toward the end, Moffie lists the cast and crew specifying their careers and untimely deaths.

‘To Kill The Duke’ is a fascinating read that any history buff can appreciate – any reader for that matter that is searching for a book with a unique plot, mesmerizing characters, and enjoys dark humor.

Sam Moffie has written four previous novels – I highly suggest that you check them out as well!http://www.amazon.com/To-Kill-the-Duke-ebook/dp/B007Q2MZFI/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1335581743&sr=1-1

Accountable to None

Title: Accountable to None
Author: Ashley Fontainne
Genre: Thriller
Publisher: CreateSpace
Pages 154

“It’s Not Revenge She’s After – It’s a Reckoning”

Accountable to None, by Ashley Fontainne, is more than just a tale about revenge – much more. It is a story about the human spirit – the human endurance structure that is woven throughout each and every one of us. There comes a time in all of our lives when we feel that we have been victimized in one way or another. Do we select to seek out revenge – or do we simply choose to forgive our attacker? Justice must always be served!

Audra is a beautiful and intelligent CPA at an accounting firm in Phoenix, Arizona. Her boss, Olin Kemper, is a belligerent, power seeking, maniacal sex-crazed maniac. Upon being lured into a meeting with him on the assumption of a possible promotion, he sexually assaults her while others turn a blind eye. I will not get into details, as I want the reader to experience first hand the authors’ realistic description of this horrific event.

Fast-forward and we find Audra is now head of the IT department. Using her computer skills, she hacks into their security system looking for anything that will incriminate those responsible for her suffering. This is where the story strikes a dramatic turn of events.

In ‘Accountable to None’, Ashley Fontainne weaves a suspenseful tale of murder, revenge and justice – perfectly balanced.

I give Five Stars to this spellbinding thriller. Bravo!

“The Toonies Invade Silicon Valley” is a magical piece of genius”

For anyone who wants to get in touch with their inner child, to experience the utmost adventure into a world where your imagination can run wild and free – ‘The Toonies Invade Silicon Valley’ will take you there and beyond! Davis’s storyline is unique and the characters are adorable.

With each turn of the page, I found myself visualizing the characters and all the while smiling – occasionally wiping away a tear. This story is more than just a gallop through fantasyland, it conveys how important it is to have, and to keep, a close family relationship – to work through the everyday confusion that we all experience.

Jeremy is an imaginative young lad who has created a comic strip like no other, full of colorful characters with exceptional abilities. Problems soon arise when he finds it difficult to ignore his parents sudden bickering at one another. It is at this time that we are introduced to ‘Doog’ – a cartoon character that is so clearly depicted by the writer, I forgot for a moment that he was a doodle. To Jeremy’s astonishment, Doog leaps from the computer screen and into the world of the living, and an instant friendship is born. However, Doog quickly explains that there are those in the cyber world that are not as friendly as he – doodles that want to escape and rule the world. Together with uncle Wom – a wise old doodle of a man, and several other lively characters, they embark on a journey to protect the living against the evil cyber bullies.

The dialogue is delicious and fresh as the story flows with ease. Betty Dravis has created an original, witty, imaginative, and just all out brilliant work of genius. I see an award winning comic strip and movie in the future for this amazing piece of literature – as well as for the creator, Betty Dravis. I have no doubt that children and adults alike will treasure this book, and will want to pass it on to generations.
