Students are reading a lot more since eReaders came along. With the
proliferation of video games, movies and cell phones over the last 20
years, our children have become more tech savvy than any of us
baby-boomers ever were. The Idea of holding a traditional book seemed
foreign to them. Reading seemed to be a chore rather than time well
spent.
Mario, Donkey Kong and the various shoot 'em up games held their
attention more than any book could. "Why should I read the book when I can watch the movie?", was what I heard quite often. Those of us who love to read know the answer to that one and now students are beginning to learn the
answer as well. All it took was an electronic device with actual words in it to get their attention. I started {kindlenookebook} to make
available all the eBooks, devices, advice and opinions in one place and
to help spread a love of reading to the younger generation.
